Urquhart Castle

Urquhart Castle

Inverness, Highlands

The castle is rich in history as it was used as a medieval fortress for over 500 years. During the wars of independence, it was passed back and forth between the English and Scotts, and was regularly raided up until the late 1500s.

Make your way up to the top of the castle’s Grant Tower and take in the vast and beautiful views of the renowned Loch Ness. Have a peak into the prison cells that held captive the areas most threatening villains. Picture the plentiful banquets that were hosted in the great hall.

Urquhart Castle makes for a great family day out and something definitely worth saving a day in calendar for!

Entry for the castle ranges from £9 for adults to £5 for children and under 5’s go FREE.
