We are thrilled to announce that almost half of the Best of British holiday parks have achieved success in the Top 100 Sites Guide, published by two top-selling touring magazines, Practical Caravan and Practical Motorhome. The national poll to find Britain’s favourite camping, caravanning and glamping parks has seen Best of British sweep the board!
They include the overall UK winner of the annual poll, Eye Kettleby Lakes in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, which is part of a family-run farm and fishery.
Thousands of parks across the country were eligible to receive the votes of readers, but in the event, almost 50 percent of holiday parks belonging to the group are honoured in the poll.
Chairman of the Best of British, Richard Legg of Hidden Valley Park in Devon, said it was a “fantastic result” for the consortium of independently-run and quality-assessed businesses:
“The Top 100 survey is one of the most highly regarded in the industry as it is based entirely upon the experiences of people who stay on parks right throughout the UK,” he said.
“They cast their votes not just on the quality of the surroundings, but also on the hospitality and warmth of welcome they receive – important priorities for all our members.
“It’s a reminder that holidays are all about enjoying new experiences and taking back special memories, so it’s great to know that we are delivering on all fronts!” added Richard.
As well as being voted top UK park, Eye Kettleby Lakes also took three other national accolades as best park for pets, best park for touring caravans and best park open year-round.
Best of British members also triumphed as overall winners in regional categories of the survey. Old Brick Kilns of Fakenham in Norfolk was voted best park in Eastern England, and Old Oaks Touring and Glamping Park in Glastonbury took pole position in Somerset, Avon and Wiltshire.

Meanwhile in Devon, Ross Park Caravan Park on the fringes of Dartmoor near Newton Abbot was judged the cream of parks in one of Britain’s most popular holiday counties.
Represented in England, Wales and Scotland, Best of British parks are family owned and subject to an in-depth quality audit before being permitted membership.
“Our aim is to provide an assurance to people that they can book their stay with the confidence, and that the standards will be uniformly high wherever they go,” said Richard.
“We’re so grateful to those who voted our parks as their favourite in this survey, and now we look forward to providing everyone this year with the breaks they need and deserve!”
Parks on the Best of British website can be searched under a range of categories including location, types of accommodation, pet-friendly, child friendly and adults only.
